Wim Batist

Chairman of The BCA Group and the headline sponsors of the Business for Calderdale Awards.

At a young age Wim and his brother took over the family’s caravan dealerships business due to their father’s illness in the Netherlands. In 1981 Wim set up BCA Leisure and spent the following two years part of the time building the business in the UK. In 1983 Wim moved full time to the UK growing a number of businesses and to date the BCA Group based in Calderdale employs some 165 staff manufacturing caravan electrical systems and distributing caravan parts.

Wim is married to Teresa, they have 2 sons and 1 daughter who are also employed in the family business.

Nick Worsnop

Partner and Head of Regulatory and Litigation at Chadwick Lawrence LLP. (Halifax Office, Dean Clough)

Nick has been in Halifax since he was 14. Through Chadwick Lawrence, Nick Founded Business for Calderdale approximately 15 years ago. He is Chair of the organisation. Nick is also director of the Halifax 900 Trust, ASBCI and company secretary of the Community Foundation for Calderdale. Nick provides general regulatory advice to businesses in a number of areas, particularly data protection, conducting audits, reviewing processes, drafting policies and assisting with data subject requests and breaches. Nick also advises on intelectual property dealing with both protection and IP infringement. As part of litigation in business he also advises upon and drafts terms in a variety of areas.

Jeremy Hall

Chairman and Managing Director at Dean Clough Ltd.

As part of litigation in business he also advises upon and drafts terms in a variety of areas. Jeremy Hall was born in Bradford in 1962 and grew up in Mill Bank near Halifax. He went to Dartington Hall School in Devon and studied music at the Leeds College of Music. Here he specialised in saxophone and became a member of the European Youth Jazz Orchestra and latterly the Bobby Wellins Quintet continuing to work as a professional musician until the mid-90’s.

In 1982 Jeremy joined with his father, Ernest Hall, Jonathan Silver (who later moved on to develop Salts Mill in Bradford) and Maurice Miller in business prior to their purchase of Dean Clough Mills in 1983.

As Managing Director of Dean Clough Ltd (since 1984) and Chairman (since 2007) Jeremy has overseen the task of regenerating the derelict Crossley Carpet Mills at Dean Clough, Halifax. At 22 acres and over half-a-mile long the factory complex was once the largest carpet mill in the world. This regeneration has seen an ever-increasing evolution of Dean Clough as a community and destination, with numerous cafes, bars, restaurants, hairdressers, gyms, a Travelodge Hotel and Jack Wills fashion outlet in addition to its high-quality commercial offices.

Dean Clough continues to be renowned for the charitable arts provision and houses numerous galleries, a theatre, and some 25 bursary artists in addition to its permanent art collection.

Stefanie Hopkins

Managing Director of Faith PR

Stefanie Hopkins is the founder and managing director of award-winning PR, social and content agency Faith and has over 19 years of PR and marketing experience. German-born Stef is a modern laguages graduate who fell in love with communications. She set up Faith in 2007 from her kitchen table and has grown the agency to the full team it has today. In recent years, Stef has won several awards for herself as well as Faith PR, including Forward Ladies SME Emerging, Yorkshire Women of Achievement and 42 under 42 She is also the co-founder of Brig-Hub, Brighouse’s first co-working space and is a director of the Mid Yorkshire Chamber. 





Allie Butterworth

Allie is a West Yorkshire Relationship Director for Lloyds Bank currently looking after a portfolio of clients across the local area.

Allie has experience across a broad range of sectors, through her various roles undertaken in the Lloyds commercial team over the past 8 years, and has a keen interest in Manufacturing, Haulage & construction.

Allie is particularly interested in sustainability and how this impacts businesses moving forward, and how businesses can work together locally to share ideas and knowledge.
