This category is for businesses who have commenced trading in the last 2 years.

SME of the Year

Celebrating the contribution of SMEs to the UK economy, this award recognises businesses with fewer than 249 employees who have delivered consistent growth whilst maintaining and sustaining their financial position during the last 2 years.

Manufacturer of the Year

Celebrating the contribution of manufacturers to the Calderdale economy, this award recognises manufacturing businesses with fewer than 249 employees who have delivered consistent growth and who demonstrate innovative products and processes and a fully engaged workforce.

Employer of the year

This award will be presented to the business which can best prove a genuine dedication to their workforce.

Entrepreneur of the Year

This award will be presented to the entrepreneur whose commercial success is matched only by the essence of their entrepreneurial story. They may well have undertaken multiple ventures before finding their own recipe for success.

International Trade/Export

This award will be presented to the business which has a successful track record and forecast trading or exporting internationally, not just to the UK market.

Excellence in Customer Service Award

This award will be presented to the business which delivers outstanding customer service and their customer satisfaction and loyalty is at the core of their business. 

Business of the Year

The shortlist for this prestigious award will be drawn from the winners of the other categories, (with the exception of the Lifetime Achievement Award). The judges will agree on who they feel is worthy of this highest accolade in the Business For Calderdale Awards 2023.

Lifetime Achievement

This Award, chosen by the Calderdale Business Awards judging panel, recognises the business leader and personality who best represents achievement and longevity. The Award acknowledges the winner’s sustained achievements throughout their distinguished career.

 

The judges are looking for evidence of:

  • A successful career
  • Impact created through their business endeavours
  • Current contribution to the Calderdale Business Community

Eligibility:

  • Their business career may not have always been in Calderdale but their current business will be based in Calderdale
  • Have already achieved an impact in terms of their impact on Calderdale’s economy
  • Have been in business 25+ years by 2022
