with Calderdale College ,Working Wonders ltd & Business for Calderdale present

‘You’re Hired’  – The Apprentice Event,

a unique event for employers and potential apprentices.

The event will be hosted at Calderdale College who were recently described by Ofsted as achieving ‘outstanding outcomes for apprenticeships’, by BBC Look North’s presenter Clare Frisby.

Clare is herself passionate about apprenticeships for young people.

Why attend

Ensuring the correct skills are in place, both within our existing and future work force is vital to the economy of the region. One of the cornerstones of this is Apprenticeships. Apprentices help businesses cut costs, fill skills and increase retention rates. However, many employers shy away from the scheme due to popular misconceptions and myths, or simply a lack of information.

If you’re an employer who is thinking about, or has existing apprentices in your workforce, you’re invited to join us on October 7th.

Guest speakers include:

  • Apprentice finalist  Clare Young
  • Apprentices who were funded by Community Foundation for Calderdale as part of the highly successful Mayoral campaign Cycle for Work.
  • Working Wonders Ltd a local charity offering funding of up to £3,000 per apprentice.
  • Local Training provider Calderdale College

Join us… To celebrate young people and apprenticeships
Hear how local firms & Calderdale College are designing courses to fit specific requirements in the modern-day workplace
Hear about apprenticeships from a young person’s perspective
Network with local business leaders
Enjoy refreshments provided by Calderdale College apprentices

Welcome to Our New Look…

Welcome to the new look Business for Calderdale website.

We thought it was about time we freshened up our image, and made our website more user friendly.
We’ve taken on board all your comments and feedback and incorporated this into a new site that works for you; the members.

The committee hopes that all the members will find the new B4C website more up to date and user friendly, in particular providing the opportunity for members to access and utilise the site to promote their businesses.

The site still has the same desirable characteristics it had before, such as; being able to find out about and book events online, as well as a list of the members of the group and how to contact them, and you can still arrange your membership payment online.

The new site allows members the opportunity to;

– Submit membership forms online
– Utilise the new members’ Noticeboard
– Access the Resource area
– Create your own resources and blogs to add to the site
– Keep in contact via the various Social Media platforms

We hope that all members will use the site regularly, not only to promote their business and make other members aware of news and facts about their businesses, but in terms of resources and through constant interaction via the blogs and Social Media platforms.

The noticeboard is a new feature that will allow members to discuss different topics and introduce new members, if you wish to provide some useful insight into the area of business you operate in, feel free to send us your resources in a word document, and we can add it to the site for other members to use.

The Committee see a vibrant and interactive website as an important feature of the membership at B4C and to help the organisation grow and prosper.

We’ve also had a new brand image created for the Business for Calderdale network, thanks to Judith at Wright Angle Marketing (WAM), which generated the starting point for our new website. The new site has been built and developed by Nigel and his team at The Marketing Lab, so a big thanks to them too… we hope you like it.

As part of the re-brand, we are pleased to be able to confirm that membership rates will continue at the same rate over a twelve month period. But memberships will now be renewed on the anniversary of the date each member joined, rather than en masse every September; we hope this makes the process much simpler for everyone.
