New Award celebrates your success stories.

Business for Calderdale has joined forces with the Halifax Courier to recognise achievements by businesses across Calderdale.

Business for Calderdale would like to present a monthly award to a business with the best business story submitted to the Courier. The winners will be further recognised at the Courier Business Awards when an overall winner for the year will receive a special award.

“The aim of Business For Calderdale is to provide links between businesses for the benefit of all involved. Business for Calderdale regularly meets at local businesses, who kindly open their doors to members, allowing us to explore and understand the many diverse and successful businesses we have within our community. This award will help celebrate and recognise this”

Businesses will be judged monthly by the committee and will receive an award from Business For Calderdale.
Business for Calderdale has over 100 businesses as members from Sole Traders to Large Businesses trading and competing Globally. We welcome new members from any industry but particularly from local manufacturing businesses.

The Criteria for the awards will be:

• Business Initiative
• Significant Growth in Business or Orders (including exports)
• Business Development and expansion in Calderdale, UK or Overseas
• Job Creation (including apprenticeships)
• The Business typifies the Spirit and Creativity of Business Enterprise, innovation and corporate Social Responsibility in Calderdale.

The Courier will choose the stories it wishes to publish, and a monthly winner will be selected by the Business for Calderdale committee each month. We look forward to presenting the first award in June.

Creative Event for Calderdale

May 12th sees our latest event promote the creativity in Calderdale with a whole host of talented Business for Calderdale Members.

It will take place at the Elsie Whiteley Innovation Centre, Hopwood Lane, Halifax from 5pm for a 5.30 start

We hope this will be the first of several Creative events so it would be great to see some new faces as well as our existing members. We hope you can attend what promises to be a great event.

Welcome to Business for Calderdale’s first newsletter.

Following feedback from our members, we thought we would gather some information together and send our members a monthly newsletter to complement the website.

Moving forwards into 2015, we’ll have a feature each month on a Business or an industry which has a success story which will interest our members. As we look forward to our March event at Crosslee plc our focus this month is Manufacturing and Export.

We will hear the success story that is Crosslee who have very kindly agree to host our March event.  Join us at Crosslee PLC, Hipperholme, on Tuesday, March 10th where we will be hearing from David Boyle, the
Managing Director of Crosslee.

Now we are firmly into 2015 we want to encourage more of our members to engage in discussions online or let us have their own individual success stories so we can share on our website. The website is a very underused area and we wish to find out ways in which we can get some more involvement so please let us know what you want to see here and to submit your ideas to David or Emma at BFC.

We have some regular contributors to our pages but could do with some more be they Ads, stories to share, Discussions etc. So please get in touch.
